Adam Lambert nominated for Finnish EMMA Award "Artist of the Year 2011" in Finland.

Adam Lambert has been nominated for a Finnish “EMMA Award.” The EMMA Awards are only for Finnish artists, however, there is the limited ‘Peoples Choice” category, where the Finnish public can vote for their favorite international artist/band. The other categories are judged by the official judges. The nominees for the international category "Artist of the Year 2011" are selected by Finnish music producers and judges. The criteria for nominees include being "musically interesting,” album sales and success. Some other international artists up for the award this year are 30 Seconds to Mars, Justin Bieber, Pink, U2, Iron Maiden and Muse. The EMMA anniversary gala will be held in Espoo, Barona Arena on February 26, 2011.

Adam is one of the most popular foreign stars in Finland. Earlier this year, he was greeted by thousands of fans at Stockmann Mall at an autograph signing. That week, he also performed his hit single “Whataya Want From Me” on Finland’s X Factor.

Adam’s debut album, For Your Entertainment was on the Finnish charts for 38 weeks, peaking at #4. His first single “For Your Entertainment” peaked at #5. Adam’s hit single “Whataya Want From Me” peaked at #2 and “If Had You” has been as high as #9 on the Finnish charts. Also, Finland is the first county to release Adam’s song Aftermath as a single. The song, co-written by Lambert, is currently #3 on Finland radio station, Energy NRJ, but has held the #1 spot in the past.
