Adam Lambert Chats with Fans in Hong Kong

American Idol alum Adam Lambert traveled to Hong Kong this week, where he answered fans' questions at a press conference before heading to the Hong Kong International Trade & Exhibition Centre for a concert.

Lambert looked relatively low-key in black jeans, a modestly-embellished tee, and edgy black jewelry. As always the hair and makeup were immaculate.

Lambert is also scheduled to perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia later this week. He's planning a toned-down per the conservative Malaysian government's wishes.

Adam Lambert Agrees To Tone Down Malaysian Concert

Adam Lambert, like Gwen Stefani and Fergie before him, has been asked to tone down his sometimes racy act during a performance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday.

Lambert agreed to do so after drawing criticism from Malaysia's Islamic opposition party over his over-the-top stage show, where he has the tendency toward kissing his male band members. In an interview with the Associated Press, the singer said his "main goal is to keep people entertained — not to make them uncomfortable.

"It's something I'm doing out of respect," Lambert continued. "It's just one little thing. A man kissing another man is something that government really doesn't appreciate."

Malaysia's Islamic opposition party claims that Lambert "promotes homosexuality"; Lambert countered by saying that he "promotes living ANY lifestyle that includes the freedom to seek love and intimacy. Gay, straight, bi, young or old. It's all inclusive."

In the end, though, he decided it was more important to play the show than to cancel it. "I think it's a tough decision to make," he said. "But to me, there are so many amazing fans in Malaysia that it's more important for me to be able to come and do my show there for them and entertain them and thank them for supporting me."

Yuen-See Cho of Sony Music in Malaysia also spoke about Lambert's decision, noting that the singer "agreed to respect the guidelines that are set by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage. We have shared with him in terms of what are the do's and don't's ... dressing and stuff like that."

The star online- Conditions set for Lambert’s concert in KL :O

PETALING JAYA: The Adam Lambert Glam Nation Tour concert in Malaysia will go on. The green light was given by the Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (Puspal) with conditions attached.

Puspal principal assistant secretary Mohd Dian Nais said among the guidelines were that the singer should dress appropriately and refrain from performing indecent acts, such as removing his clothes.

He was responding to a protest memorandum on the concert by Pas Youth deputy-chief Azman Shapawi Abd Rani.

The memorandum referred to Lambert’s reputation for delivering sexually-provocative performances on stage, including kissing a male musician during a live performance at the American Music Awards in November 2009, an act which was also criticised in the US.

Mohd Dian added that concert organisers, Marctensia Entertainment and Sony Music Malaysia, had been given a briefing on the regulations.

“Previously, we stopped (hip hop artist) Akon’s concert in Sunway Pyramid because the singer had acted indecently by removing his clothes during a previous concert,” he told Bernama here yesterday.

The Adam Lambert concert is scheduled for Oct 14 at the Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil.
