Adam Lambert fans, who joined together to raise more than $316,000 to assist 314,000 underprivileged students in 2009, are at it again. With their glam icon fully behind them, Lambert and his fans are on their way helping fulfill arts and music classroom project requests posted by teachers at www.DonorsChoose.org/glam-nation raising about $150,000 in the summer of 2010, for a total contribution of nearing half a million dollars since the fall of 2009.
The newest campaign, Glam A Classroom, started on the Glam Nation tour with Lambert asking fans to contribute to the cause. According to the DonorsChoose.com website, so far 2,472 Lambert fans have been able to raise $148,916, which will assist 124,339 students.
"I can't thank my fans enough for getting involved with the Glam A Classroom campaign to provide much needed resources for public schools," Adam said of his new initiative when the tour began. "I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of amazing music and theater teachers, so I want to help foster the next Ansel Adams or American Idol."
Adam's Glam Nation US Tour will end on September 21st, and so will Glam A Classroom!. According to DonorsChoose.org, teachers nationwide are spending $1 billion per year out of their own pockets due to lack of funding for educational materials and Adam Lambert fans have already chopped nearly half a million from that.
