FROM PRESSURE TO PRIVILEGE: ADAM LAMBERT ON BEING A ROLE MODEL

Although he came in second behind Kris Allen on season 8 of “American Idol,” Adam Lambert has turned his “Idol” exposure into a pretty solid career. His first post-”Idol” album generated a couple of hit singles, and he’s got new music on the way soon. He’s also found success on the road, selling out venues all over the world. But what Lambert’s found is that with all of this success comes increased responsibility, because his status as an openly gay pop star has made him a role model for gay teens.

At first, Lambert admits, he found it to be a little intimidating, but he tells us he’s grown to feel comfortable — even privileged — being called a role model.
