Adam Lambert- Opening montage for AI 10

The opening segment of 'American Idol' is well-known for it's headshots of performers that have been crowned Idol in previous seasons. For season 10, the montage now includes Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and Grammy nominee Adam Lambert.

Jennifer Hudson, affectionately referred to as JHud by her fans, was the 7th place finalist in season 3 of 'Idol'. Hudson made her film debut in the 2006 film Dreamgirls which won her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe Award, and several other major honors. She later won a Grammy Award for her 2008 gold-certified self-titled debut album; sales exceeded 1 million copies worldwide.

Adam Lambert, who is just coming off his sold out international Glam Nation solo tour, was runner-up in season 8 of 'Idol'. Lambert just received a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his platinum single "Whataya Want From Me." His 2009 debut album, For Your Entertainment, has sold almost 800,000 copies in the U.S. and over 1 million worldwide.

How do you feel about this change in the opening montage? Does it take away from what being crowned 'Idol' means, or does it lend the show more credibility to give credit to successful 'non-winners'? Comment below!
