Adam Lambert Will Be Honored at Los Angeles Equality Awards

LOS ANGELES -- Equality California will honor singer and songwriter Adam Lambert, a San Diego native, and Facebook at this year’s annual Los Angeles Equality Awards.

Presented by AT&T, the awards will take place Saturday, Aug. 13, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

Adam Lambert fans have another reason to rejoice. Equality California will honor the 29-year-old singer at this year's annual Los Angeles Equality Awards. The organization also plans to recognize Facebook at the event. The announcement comes as no surprise to fans who idolize the performer. He is well-known for his charity work and impressive contributions to the music world.

Equality California's new executive director Roland Palencia explained to San Diego Gay and Lesbian News why they selected the recording artist and the wildly popular social media website to receive accolades at the event:

"We're thrilled to honor Adam Lambert and Facebook whose work has been a catalyst for social change and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. Their courage and leadership in entertainment and social media have helped Californians become more supportive of LGBT rights."

Adam Lambert is a positive role model for gay youths who may be struggling with their sexuality. He exudes confidence. He also sets the example that being a proud gay man is something to be celebrated, not hidden. He certainly deserves the recognition from the Los Angeles Equality Awards. Likewise, his fans are sure to be delighted and supportive as ever of his latest triumph.

Ben Jackson Says Adam Lambert Influences his Music, Says Adam is Talented

Here is the Adam mention:

QUESTION: 'Can You Be My Lover' and 'Dirty, Dirty Disco' are two very different songs. What are your influences?

Ben Jackson : As mentioned, I love the sound of Stevie Nicks; but Sheryl Crow, Johnny Cash and R.E.M are also huge influences for me. There is so much around at the moment that is influencing my newer songs and writing, such as Adam Lambert. What a talent, eh?
