There are a couple of Adam Lambert stories hitting the internet this weekend in regards to his debut album "For Your Entertainment," and both of them are giving fans in different areas of the world reason to celebrate.
Australia
We begin with the news that Adam's album has officially reached platinum certification in Australia, something that does not come as too great of a surprise considering both the former "American Idol" singer's popularity there and also the fact that the album has also gone platinum in nearby New Zealand.
Adam was in Australia this past fall for the Glam Nation Tour, and even caused there to be an event change at one city due to popularity.
China
Finally, fans in China can also finally have an opportunity to hear Adam's music -- "FYE" will be officially released in the country on January 14 of this year. This release has been a long time coming for fans, many of whom even traveled to Hong Kong for his show at Star Hall.
Granted, Adam Lambert was technically beginning his "American Idol" journey at this point in time two years agoo -- but is it really too late for him to get some much-deserved praise? The commendation this time is also coming from someone who knows the music business more than just a little bit -- legendary performer Frank Sinatra's daughter Nancy.
Speaking in a number of Twitter posts on Saturday, Sinatra defended Adam for pretty much everything he did on the show -- even though she also received some backlish for some of her statements about his performance style. Here are just a few highlights from the discussion:
•"Adam will never have to be in a box. He is far too talented and brilliant." •"I voted for him [on "Idol"] many times and I was FURIOUS when he lost." •"Adam's best to date is his acoustic album but he must make the image fit the music now." •"There are similarities with Adam and Elton [John], I agree. I respect both of them tremendously." Much of this discussion between Sinatra and Adam's fans began when Nancy stated that she felt Adam needs to focus more on his music rather than what she feels to be an "over-the-top" sense of style -- she later said that it was not her intention to criticize him so much as just offer her opinion on how she feels he can best succeed.
