Granted, Adam Lambert was technically beginning his "American Idol" journey at this point in time two years agoo -- but is it really too late for him to get some much-deserved praise? The commendation this time is also coming from someone who knows the music business more than just a little bit -- legendary performer Frank Sinatra's daughter Nancy.
Speaking in a number of Twitter posts on Saturday, Sinatra defended Adam for pretty much everything he did on the show -- even though she also received some backlish for some of her statements about his performance style. Here are just a few highlights from the discussion:
•"Adam will never have to be in a box. He is far too talented and brilliant."
•"I voted for him [on "Idol"] many times and I was FURIOUS when he lost."
•"Adam's best to date is his acoustic album but he must make the image fit the music now."
•"There are similarities with Adam and Elton [John], I agree. I respect both of them tremendously."
Much of this discussion between Sinatra and Adam's fans began when Nancy stated that she felt Adam needs to focus more on his music rather than what she feels to be an "over-the-top" sense of style -- she later said that it was not her intention to criticize him so much as just offer her opinion on how she feels he can best succeed.

Two simple sentences have landed Adam Lambert in a bit of trouble.
Yesterday, the singer - likely motivated by the recent struggles of Amber Portwood - Tweeted that Teen Mom is depressing to watch.
Today, he was took to the social network again in response to the reaction of some of his followers, many of whom apparently took issue with Lambert's stance. He wrote:
Lambert was more than just snarky, however. He was also explanatory, adding:
"I'm not saying that all teen moms are white trash. Don't misunderstand. Yet, most of the ones on that show seem to be. I do, however, think they're are being exploited a bit."

Adam Lambert lost some Twitter followers yesterday - And he is perplexed by the reason for the defection by what usually seem to be some of the most die-hard, loyal fans in the entertainment business.
What could have caused so much unease with these otherwise loyal fans? Apparently they did not like what Lambert had to say about TV shows which in his opinion take advantage of teenage mothers.
Lambert Tweeted yesterday:
This Teen Mom show on MTV is so depressing. I know it's "real life" but shouldn't there be programming that inspires kids to shoot higher? #glorifyingwhitetrash
I'm not saying that all teen moms are white trash. Don't misunderstand. Yet, most of the ones on that show seem to be. I do, however, think they're are being exploited a bit.
Today, Lambert noticed he had fewer Twitter followers than yesterday - he didn't say how many followers he has lost, but for a musician who still has over 800,000 followers, it must have been a significant enough number for Lambert to actually notice.

I am a big fan of reality shows -- But only the ones which do not portray people in demeaning ways or take advantage of their lust for fame. And my gut tells me to avoid the show Lambert finds "depressing," Teen Mom. So, I have to agree with Lambert that there just has to be more inspirational but just as entertaining programming ideas out there for our teens.
Why do you think some of Lambert's fans were offended by his comments? Was Lambert's opinion about Teen Mom that outrageous or offensive?
