Lambert: 'Grammy may help my credibility'
Adam Lambert has said that he feels his recent Grammy nomination gives him more credibility as a solo recording artist.
The American Idol runner-up earlier this week discovered that he had been nominated for 'Best Male Pop Vocal Performance' for his single 'Whataya Want From Me'.
"I was so excited!" Lambert told The Hollywood Reporter. "I knew the song would be a key track on my album.
"I hope that at this point, after all the hard work I've done over the past year, the nomination will give me credibility as a true vocalist in the industry. And perhaps help fade some of the stigma that comes from rising to fame on a competition show."
The 53rd Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place February 13, 2011.

Adam, his band, dancers and road crew have been on the road in a grueling international tour that began on June 4th, in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
The concerts have been fantastic and the world knows Adam in a much more personal way now that they've had the privilege of seeing him live and in concert.

Adam Lambert Hopes Grammy Nomination Will Give Him Credibility
Rising to fame as a contestant on the popular talent competition show, American Idol, can be challenging but season 8′s breakout star Adam Lambert did just that. His stunning voice and skill as a performer has earned him a platinum album, headlining tour and an abundance of adoring fans.Even with all this success, the subject of credibility still lingers for the singer but Adam hopes that his recent Grammy nomination will help to change this.
“I hope that at this point, after all the hard work I’ve done over the past year, the nomination will give me credibility as a true vocalist in the industry,” Adam tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview shortly after receiving the big news, “and perhaps help fade some of the stigma that comes from rising to fame on a competition show.”
Last week when the 2011 Grammy nominations were revealed, Adam learned he’d been nominated in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category for his song Whataya Want From Me. How did he get the big news? “I was awoken by my manager in the morning while in Paris,” he said. “Much more effective than my usual cup of coffee to wake me up. I was so excited!”
The Grammy awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 13, 2011.

Adam Lambert nabs Grammy nod; tries to wrangle performance
HollywoodNews.com: After being completely floored by his Grammy nomination, Adam Lambert is remaining at the center of the action and is rumored to be pushing for a performance at the awards ceremony. A representative from Lambert’s record label, RCA, commented on Lambert’s official website saying that they would be working on securing a performance for the up-and-coming superstar, though it is not a sure thing.
“A nomination doesn’t guarantee a performance, but of course we’ll be working to make that happen.” Said the RCA rep, according to the Examiner. Despite the hype, Lambert has not has a lot of time to work on music, having just come off of his successful Glam Nation tour, which may be a factor in whether he will perform or not.
Regardless of whether he will perform, February 13 will be a huge night for Lambert, a star who finds himself on a consistent upwards trajectory.
