Adam Lambert reaches new high point on Canadian Hot 100
Adam Lambert went into the Billboard chart announcement Thursday with some momentum, but it was still to be seen exactly how he would finish up in terms of final numbers. Thankfully, all of the news this week is good news.
First, let's start with the most major development -- that Adam now has reached a new peak with "If I Had You" on the Canadian Hot 100. After re-entering the top ten last week with the song, he is now sitting at #8. The last time the "American Idol" singer was so high on the chart was when "Whataya Want From Me" ultimately peaked at #3 north of the border earlier this year.
As for Adam's overall chart movement here in the States, there really isn't much movement to even talk about. For the second straight week, the singer is sitting at #32. This is likely due to a decrease in single sales, though increased radio airplay helped to maintain a strong position near the top thirty of the chart.

Adam and the band on the visit to Donorschoose on the fan club website
On Tuesday, August 24th, Adam, Cam, Monte, Tommy, and Longineu made a special appearance at the office of DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that delivers materials to high-need classrooms, and Adam’s charity of choice! The band surprised the student jazz band of JHS 278 Marine Park and their teacher with much-needed school supplies.
The band played two songs for Adam and his bandmates. They had the chance to ask Adam about life on tour, what inspired him to sing, and what it was like to be on American Idol. The students were then given a chance to learn the opening to “If I Had You” and received autographed CDs from Adam.
Music teacher Candis Pohl said about meeting Adam and his band, “It was an unforgettable day for not only the students but myself as well. This time he will have the stage all to himself on September 7th.
Adam will perform “for your entertainment” September 7th at The Palladium Ballroom.
“For Your Entertainment” turned out to be exactly the kind of album Adam wanted to make.
“It’s very eclectic,” he told People magazine. “There are anthems, there are songs that make you want to dance, there are songs that make you feel sexy and there are songs that touch you, hopefully, with emotional, insightful, deeper lyrics.”

Adam Lambert Launches Twitter Rant Over Fashion Copycat Claim
"American Idol" alum Adam Lambert has thrown Twitter rant on Monday, August 30 over In Touch recent article which said "Willow's copying Adam's Style!, is Adam Lambert Willow Smith's inspiration? Sure looks like it." Adam began his tirade by linking the publication's page featuring him and Willow in several similar styles.
"Willow's a little badass lady but I don't think we have much in common! Lol. C'mon InTouch! This is a stretch," Adam wrote on his Twitter page. He later refreshed his fans' memories, writing "Didn't you hear? I'm copying Bill Kaulitz. So... In a round about way, so is she. Right? And he's copying Rihanna. In truth ladies and gentlemen... No one is copying anyone."
"Following trends is a stylist's job and part of ours is to appear fashionable. Leave the copy cat bull to the school playground," the "Whataya Want from Me" singer explained. "For example: the Xtina/(Lady) GaGa Conspiracy? Lets look just look at Madonna. Seems they were BOTH inspired by her. And she borrowed a page from Marilyn (Monroe)."
"(Amongst others) its the Post Modern age - everything's been done. Pop stars acknowledging something and editorializing on it is an art," Adam continued. "And to clarify before any media takes my rant out of context: I am a fan of all the artists I just mentioned! I love you Madonna, Marilyn, GaGa, XTina, Rihanna, Bill, and little Willow (for inspiring this rant and inTouch to begin with) btw girl - you fierce."
"Also anyone that took me too seriously just now needs to... NOT!" Adam noted. "While I'm ranting: whats with this 'FTW' or 'For The Win' phrase? Also, 'epic Fail'. I'm sick of these sayings. I don't even know why. I wish more people would invent their own sayings. Originality would be more... Original."
And as one of Bill's fans dissed Adam for dragging Bill's name into his rant, the star replied, "Haha i was actually giving him free publicity. Think of it as a birthday present. Lol."

Adam Lambert Gives Major Props to Freddie Mercury
To many American Idol fans, Adam Lambert is one of a kind.
But appearing on NPR this week, the artist spoke glowingly of former Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, who would have turned 64 this Sunday if he hadn't died from AIDS in 1991, saying that singer was truly unique.
"It was about the music, but he also really captivated the audience because he was so electric. That's why he's an icon because you remembered what he did on stage, he had a presence," said Adam.
Some might consider Lambert - who is touring the nation and recently performed in NYC - the next Mercury, but the man himself says people such as Freddie are absent these days.
"There's definitely something missing in today's music scene," Adam said. "We don't have a lot of men on stage doing flamboyant or theatrical. We have a lot of female pop stars doing it, but where's the classic pop-rock showman?"
