Manila Bulletin- Adam Lambert Loves Lea Salonga and Lumpia
MANILA, Philippines – "American Idol" Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert is no stranger to Pinoy culture having grown up to the music of award-winning Filipino singer, Lea Salonga.
“I have so much respect for her. I remember listening to the Ms. Saigon soundtrack album over and over again when I was younger,” Lambert said on “TV Patrol,” Oct. 10.
Back in high school in California, Lambert's Pinoy friends introduced him to Filipino dishes.
“Pansit and lumpia...in every house I would go every afternoon...so good.”
The singer, who’s known for his hits “For Your Entertainment” and “If I Have You,” had a successful one-night concert “The Glam Nation Tour: Adam Lambert Live in Manila” at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds on Oct. 10.
Upon arrival, Lambert gushed, “It’s been amazing!”
“The only thing I know about the Philippines is my hotel and the gym and some mango,” he quipped on "Showbiz Central" about his experience in Manila.
Lambert said his concert is divided into three parts.
“In the beginning, it is mysterious, seductive and a little bit dark. And then the middle section is very vulnerable, strip down, acoustic arrangement, very honest. And the last one is very over the top and fun and lots of dancing.”
The popular AI alumnus refers to his Glam Nation tour as “my baby.”
“This is my chance to take my music on the form of entertainment album and really bring it to life for the audiences first across the US and now across the world.”
The singer is a hands-on performer.
“It’s really important for me to make the concept and string it all together. So, I’ve to pick out my outfits, I’ve got to cast my dancers, work with choreographers, put in lighting and the sound designers to come up with what I really like.”
Growing up in California, the gender-bender singer “felt that I was judged” but was fortunate enough to be spared from bullying as a teen.
“I was lucky that I never really experienced a lot of hardcore bullying. People pretty much left me alone,” he recalled.
“But I was also very senstitive to it. I curtailed some of my behavior and some of my actions because I don’t want to get bullied.”
Did his sexual orientation cast a shadow over his chance in winning the grand prize in “American Idol?”
“No. I mean, I wasn’t really actually given the chance to completely, 100 percent talk about my lifestyle after the show. I think it was basically all speculations made by people by assuming.
"And they’re right, too. I made no effort to hide anything about myself. I’m just….being happily talked about it.
The singer thinks he handled the situation very well by not dwelling on it.
“There’s nothing that I can do. It’s out of my control.”
Asked about the two new "American Idol" Season 9 judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, Lambert said, "I used to love JLo that much and [her] 'Waiting for Tonight' [song]. I love her. She’s beautiful. I think she’ll bring a fresh perspective [to the show].”

“Yeah, of course. I think Steven Tyler is really fantastic. I mean, he’s a rock icon. So I think that’s gonna be…. I think he’s a character, you know, who used to be eccentric himself .

OMG!!!!! Glamily!! Adam Lambert almost at 1 million fans on Facebook!!
The former American Idol finalist, singer Adam Lambert is seeing major success as he has been following the release of his debut album, For Your Entertainment. While on the hit singing competition, Lambert proved to the nation and the world that he had the talent to make it, and that is exactly what he has done. He has gone on to reach a new level of fame, and his ever-increasing fan base continues to prove that point.
Adam Lambert has sold countless copies of his debut album, not to mention copies and downloads of his three hit singles. Every week it seems that the album continues to be a presence on major music charts all over the world like Billboard and others. The demand of the fans to hear Lambert perform live (Glam Nation tour), along with the desire to see his songs climb the charts has resulted in success.
It was recently reported that Lambert has reached over 700,000 followers on Twitter, and on his official Facebook page, he is almost at 1 million fans.

The first -- a reference to the Goldfrapp song of the same name was a suggestion from the singing sensation, who said that this tune 'relaxes me and transports me to another world. Listen to it on headphones and close your eyes'
That was his last Twitter message as Glambert tours Asia.
Meanwhile, today, as part of DonorsChoice.org's 10th anniversary -- appropriately on 10.10.10, the artist sent good wishes to the organization that is involved in his Glam A Classroom, a charity that raises money for make school improvements.
About half a million has been raised so far for Adam's charity, all part of Donors Choice, to which Lambert gave a big shoutout.

Adam Lambert shows strength on Radio, Digital Songs charts
So with Adam Lambert's "If I Had You" keeping steady at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100, how is he doing elsewhere? The "American Idol" singer is still going strong on a couple of the magazine's other important genre charts.
Radio Songs: 30 (last week: 34)
The most impressive thing about this ranking is that Adam actually lost spins on the Top 40 radio chart this week but still managed to move up here. How did her do it? You can be sure to thank Adult Contemporary stations -- who are still picking up the song -- along with some support in the dance format.
Digital Songs: 48 (last week: 42)
The drop here is to be expected at this point, since most people who love Adam's new single already have the album or have purchased it in the weeks leading up to this. Even with that, though, Adam fans still have plenty of reasons to celebrate -- the single did, after all, break past the 500,000 barrier over the week.

Adam Lambert fans try to get 'If I Had You' to #1 on iTunes

This could--and should--be a #1 hit, if even a small portion of his fans drop $1.29, and download this song (which they probably own a thousand times over).
But it is an interesting experiment, and one that can certainly be achieved by these devoted fans. And the best part? He deserves that top spot on the chart. Now all we have to do is see how long it takes.
If only the Dems could be so organized.

Will teens be able to watch - Adam Lambert’s Manila show?
Is it true that the forthcoming concert of "American Idol" Season 8 runner up Adam Lambert on Oct. 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds might be "For Adults Only?"
Reportedly, there are certain groups complaining that Adam doesn’t hold wholesome live performances. In one of his recent concerts in the US, he was said to have kissed on the lips a good-looking male fan in the audience.
If teenagers 18 and below are out to watch Adam’s Manila concert, it wouldn’t be nice for them to see Adam repeat his act and kiss a Filipino male in the crowd.
Since the very talented Adam joined "American Idol," his gender has been an issue among the fans of the popular talent search show. Even if Adam had not been vocal about his questionable sexuality, he has captured millions of fans worldwide.
In a country like the Philippines where there are many conservative adults, there are parents who do not favor their teenage children to watch Adam Lambert live onstage. That’s why there are certain groups who will reportedly push for his concert not to push through or be "For Adults Only."
The singing idol has certainly lots of teenage fans, but crowd attendance will definitely be affected if the "For Adults Only" rule will be implemented for his show. Blue Dream Entertainment, producer of the show, has yet to issue a reaction regarding this development in his Manila show.
