ADAM LAMBERT will be the headline performer at the FIFTH ANNUAL MIAMI BEACH GAY PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL, SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 2013. He will perform for Pride-goers from the MAIN STAGE in LUMMUS PARK just off Ocean Drive between 11th and 12th Streets. His performance is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. The event is Miami Beach’s largest LGBT two-day event with more than 125 LGBT-friendly vendors and businesses, exciting celebrities, musical performances, refreshments, food and a family-friendly play area for over 60,000 people from all walks of life, all parts of the country, and all age groups.

Before Daft Punk teased 15-second snippets of their fourth album Random Access Memories, so before Chic‘s Nile Rodgers was revealed to be a key player, Rodgers had re-entered the current music scene via Adam Lambert‘s sophomore album Trespassing.
While recording the funky “Shady,” Lambert and Sam Sparro decided that the song needed Nile Rodgers-style guitars, only to conclude that hey, perhaps they should contact Rodgers himself. On Friday (March 22) and at Miami’s Winter Music Conference, Rodgers remembered how Sparro had reached out via Twitter, then sealed the deal by sending his own “Black and Gold.”
“[People] say, ‘Yo, you want to play on my record?’ and I say, ‘Send me the shit, let me see if I like it,’” Rodgers said, as reported by Rolling Stone. “I didn’t even know who Adam Lambert was, really. I don’t watch American Idol.” The rest, though, is history — Trespassing was voted the best album of 2012, and Rodgers continued to help create great music, as he did for Madonna, David Bowie and Diana Ross.
